BEFORE IT LEFT FOR the building far away, the old man called the police, informed them that someone had left a bag full of notes in the park and wished it luck to find Mr. Sreynik. It thanked the old man and slipped into a bus which the old man said would take it closer to the building. He explained it the route and asked it the name of the building and the bus numbers till he was sure that it remembered them correctly. It was all about the small journey then which it completed without any trouble in probably one and a half hours, and without attracting a single eye. The building was right in front of it now.

As it took its first step towards the building, it noticed something, a car that raced out of the building’s parking. Even though it wasn’t sure, it had a strong feeling that the car belonged to Mr. Sreynik. The chances of it finding Mr. Sreynik in his office at this hour were minute, so, it decided to follow the car instead because if wrong, it could come back to the building any time now.

Whoever the person was, he drove very fast, unlike Mr. Sreynik. It found it difficult to catch the car many times, even though it possessed amazing speed on the road. It was only the traffic lights which helped it reduce its distance from the car and twice it thought of abandoning its chase since there was no way Mr. Sreynik could be driving so fast. Yet, it continued. After probably 30 pacey minutes, the car stopped and turned into the parking of a hotel. It tried to confront the person in the parking itself but by the time it reached there, the man was gone. He was aboard the elevator. It then slipped through the gap between the elevator shaft-doors and the ground and cautiously crawled up the wall. It came out of the shaft the same way but it was late again, by just a few seconds maybe. The man was gone.

There were around 10 rooms on the floor it stood on now. It decided to check each of them. If the man wasn’t Mr. Sreynik, he would be lost forever, but that didn’t matter because if the man was Mr. Sreynik, it would find him. It slipped through the door of the first room and luckily, it was empty and it didn’t have to waste its time. It did the same for the 5 rooms that followed and found 3 of them empty as well. The remaining two had people in it, old, young, kids, all. It didn’t notice anything that could grab its eyes, only till it entered the next room.

Loud noises were audible from inside the room the moment it stood next to its door. It slipped inside and slowly crawled on the floor towards the interior where the noises came from. There was a woman, moaning and yelling. No, there were two. It slipped into the room inside the room and stood silently on the back wall for a second.
